Originally written for the first-ever Soviet Christmas special in 1988, “Merry Glasnost!” the Kremlin deemed the lyrics too scary for children and KGB agents, and banned "Santa's Got the Bomb" indefinitely.

But a covert CIA operation last year returned ownership of the song back to London Down.

With legendary producer Phil Spector still in jail for murder, the band turned to Nashville twang guru Dave Ristrim to produce their first Christmas single.

Ristrim jumped at the chance, exclaiming, “Hell yeah!!” from his bunker. Ristrim also played lap steel and channelled a deranged Santa voice.

Now, enjoy this bit of Christmas magic that has eluded the communist and free worlds for 32 years!

Lyrics

Santa’s Got the Bomb

Santa’s got the bomb
You better know right from wrong
Evil rocket scientists
Taught St. Nick how to do the twist

Santa’s got the bomb
You better know right from wrong
He just wants to make the scene
On the bomb bay doors he starts to swing
(He just wants to make a scene on Christmas Eve)
